The app needs access to your location (optionally also in the background) to warn you before you approach areas where cannabis consumption is prohibited by law. Your location is matched against the stored zones exclusively on your device. Only derived data is stored on your device: cached warning zones, monitored regions and places you created yourself. Movement profiles are not created and are not transmitted to us. The legal basis is your consent via the operating system location permission (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can revoke it at any time in the system settings.

To search for places and load relevant facilities in your area, the app retrieves data from services of the OpenStreetMap ecosystem (Nominatim, Overpass API). Your search query or the coordinates of the requested map area as well as technically necessary connection data (e.g. IP address) are transmitted to these services. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (provision of the app functionality).

You can suggest missing places to the community. When you submit a place, we send to our server (api.fourtwentypilot.de, located in Germany/EU): the coordinate and category of the place, your optional description, an anonymous device identifier, device model, operating system version, app version and language. The device identifier is used exclusively to prevent abuse and spam; we use Apple's App Attest mechanism for protection. It does not allow us to identify you personally. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Only if you actively consent, the app collects anonymized usage statistics via TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Berlin). Events about app usage are transmitted without names, email addresses, device identifiers or location data. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); it is disabled by default and can be revoked at any time in the settings.

The free version shows ads via Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin). We request exclusively non-personalized ads; we do not create an advertising profile. For technical reasons, your IP address and device information are nevertheless transmitted to Google when ads are delivered; this may involve a transfer to the USA, which is safeguarded by EU standard contractual clauses. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (financing of the free app version). Details: https://policies.google.com/privacy. In-app purchases are handled entirely by the App Store (Apple) or Google Play; we do not receive any payment or account data.

This website does not use cookies, analytics services or advertising networks. When you visit it, only technically necessary connection data (e.g. IP address) is processed by the hosting provider to deliver the page (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). You may withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
